About Expert Medical

Clinical governance behind every medico-legal report

How Expert Medical quality-checks its reports: vetted GMC or HCPC-registered experts, a CPR Part 35 compliance review before every delivery, confidential data handling and a published complaints procedure.

Clinical governance at Expert Medical means the checks that sit behind every report we deliver. Panel experts are vetted for current GMC or HCPC registration and matched to instructions by clinical specialism, so an orthopaedic injury is assessed by an orthopaedic specialist rather than a generalist. Before any report leaves us it is reviewed against CPR Part 35 and Practice Direction 35, including the declarations and statement of truth the court expects. The expert's overriding duty is to the court, not to the party paying for the report, and that principle runs through the whole process.

01

Every report is checked before delivery

Before a report reaches the instructing party it is reviewed against CPR Part 35 and Practice Direction 35. The check confirms that the declarations and statement of truth are present and the structure is right for court use, so solicitors and insurers receive evidence that is ready to serve.

02

Experts are vetted before they join the panel

Panel experts hold current GMC or HCPC registration and have completed medico-legal training. Each instruction is matched to a specialist in the relevant discipline, and the examining expert has no prior treating relationship with the claimant, which protects the objectivity of the opinion.

03

Independence, confidentiality and accountability

The expert's overriding duty is to the court, whichever party instructs. Case data is handled confidentially in line with UK data protection law through a secure client portal, and a published complaints policy with a dedicated Complaints Officer gives every party a clear route to raise concerns.

Quality that is checked, not assumed

A medico-legal report only has value if the court can rely on it. That is why every report passes a compliance review before delivery, why our experts are vetted and matched by specialism, and why our complaints procedure is published for anyone to read. If you have a concern about our service, you can read the complaints policy on this site or lodge a complaint directly with our Complaints Officer.
